Method of use

1. RBV - it is applied warmed up to 200 "C.
2. Heating is carried out in boilers with continuous stirring. The heating temperature is not more than 200 ″ C, the heating time is not more than 4 hours. Heated RBV must be used for no more than 2 hours. Repeated heating of the RBV is not allowed.

These Recommendations are intended to be used when performing operations on filling joints of concrete coatings and cracks in asphalt concrete and concrete coatings.

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1.1. Sealing materials such as rubber-bitumen binders are used to fill joints, as well as cracks in concrete and asphalt concrete pavements of airfields.
1.2. A rubber-bitumen binder is obtained in factories by mixing petroleum bitumen (softening temperature in K and W 65-70 ° C, penetration 25 ± 3) with crushed rubber (grain size smaller than I mm) (according to TU 38 10436-82), coumaron resin and softener.
1.3. A rubber-bitumen binder is produced in pieces weighing 1 to 3 kg; to prevent sticking, each piece is sprinkled with talcum powder or other similar materials. It can be packed in paper or plastic bags weighing up to 30 kg.
1.4. A rubber-bitumen binder should be stored in a warehouse that protects it from moisture, direct sunlight and foreign objects. If you need long-term storage in the summer, a rubber-bitumen binder in pieces should be shoveled and sprinkled with talcum powder or other means to prevent adhesion. The shelf life of a rubber-bitumen binder should not exceed 12 months.
1.5. These Recommendations are intended for use by the aerodrome services of airports during work on the ongoing repair of artificial aerodrome coatings.
1.6. Filling of joints and cracks should be carried out in such a way as to ensure safe flight operation in accordance with the requirements. Aerodrome Manual The work must be carried out in between flights, calculating breaks so that the rubber-bitumen binder is completely cooled.

2. APPLICABLE MATERIALS
2.1. To carry out work on filling seams and cracks, the rubber-bitumen binder RBV-25, RBV-35, RBV-50 (TU U V. 2.7-21-138-97) should be used as sealing materials.
2.2. A rubber-bitumen binder is used for filling seams and cracks of all classes of airports, choosing the binder brand depending on the climatic zone according to SNiP 2.05.08-85 for IV-V, III-V and IV, respectively RBB-25, RBV-35 and RBV- 50.

3. HEATING THE SEALING MATERIAL
3.1. Before using a sealing material - a rubber-bitumen binder, it is necessary to check its manufacturability.
To determine manufacturability, one or two samples weighing approximately 500 g are taken from three packaging places. The samples are placed in one container (such as a metal can), heated on an electric or gas stove with stirring (with a spoon, spatula, or other object) to a temperature of 180- 200 ° C. A binder is considered technologically advanced if it is a homogeneous mixture that freely pours out of the container and does not contain impurities.
3.2. A boiler intended for heating a rubber-bitumen binder must be equipped with thermometers with a division price, which provides the possibility of constant monitoring of the material temperature with an accuracy of ± 5 ° C.
To determine the temperature throughout the entire depth of the boiler, the thermometer must be mounted on a long wooden rail. Heating of a rubber-bitumen binder over 180-200 ° C is not allowed.
